Bede’s is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Boarding House Matron at our thriving Senior School, located in the picturesque East Sussex countryside.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be responsible for the care, supervision and well-being of pupils; to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Boarding House routines and systems and maintain the good presentation of the House. They will need to have great communication & record keeping skills, keep up to date with safeguarding policies and procedures and provide an empathetic presence in the house, being sensitive to those who are having difficulties coping with school life.
Most of all, we are looking for someone who has experience in working with children and adolescents. To be a great team player and have relevant first aid & mental health first aid qualifications, if not a holder of certificates in these areas, to be willing to acquire one at Bede’s request. A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for all shifts.
This is a permanent role, working 30 hours a week, term time only plus 3 weeks (36 weeks worked in total). Due to the nature of the role, we will require the individual to be on a rota for weekends and evenings.
Salary: £15,606 per annum plus holiday pay (FTE £30,138.08)
