Course outline:
The world of work has changed, and leaders are facing increasing pressure to navigate higher demand and greater levels of complexity.
The temptation is to hunker down, focus on doing what we do well, what we have always done, work harder and work longer hours, in the hope we can ride out the storm. We all do it! But repeating the patterns of our past is causing unprecedented increases in burnout, turnover and mental health issues across our workforces and workplaces, and the reality is that what got us here will not get us where we want to go.
Topics will include:
- Exploring the changing expectations of leadership in today’s environment
- Reviewing our relationship to, and responsibility for, leading the change we want to see for ourselves, our teams and our organisation
- Providing an overview of some of the high-touch leadership skills and competencies essential for the future, including:
- Growth mindset
- Stress management
- Emotional literacy, connection and intimacy
- Self-care and honouring our needs
- Introducing some of the tools and techniques to facilitate the conscious and consistent practice of these competencies in the everyday
