Course Outline:

Conflict happens in every organisation. This webinar will explore how to ensure conflict is handled in a healthy way to promote creativity and progress in your team. Effective communication, active listening, negotiation and mediation are critical skills. In the second part of the webinar, we will focus on staff disciplinaries, and investigations and how to use conflict management skills in those instances.

Learning outcomes:

  • Being able to understand the causes and dynamics of conflict including different conflict resolution models and theories
  • Developing proactive, effective and constructive conflict resolution skills and recognising the value of different perspectives
  • Being confident in leading on staff disciplinaries and investigations both in terms of process and maintaining relationships.

Speaker:

Gaelle Sullivan, Director of Research, Inclusion and IELA 

Gaelle is Head of Research Services and Inclusion and joined the BSA in January 2023. She is an experienced senior leader and has worked in a range of state and independent schools. She is a qualified SENCO and holds a Masters Degree in Inclusive Education. Prior to joining the BSA, Gaelle was Deputy Head Pastoral, DSL and Head of Boarding at an all-girls independent school in the South-East.
