Since 2017, our campus has been fully modernised, including the addition of two purpose built boarding houses and a state-of-the-art science facility with dedicated preparation spaces, providing our students with an exceptional place to live and learn. 

The Position  

Saint-Charles International School seeks to appoint a male or female Boarding and Academic Assistant.  

The main function of this position is to be an adult presence in the Boarding Houses and to be responsible for the safeguarding, welfare and security of students by assisting the Houseparents (HPs) and their team in the supervision of the welfare of the students. Candidates are expected to participate fully in student welfare and the co-curricular programme of a busy boarding school.

The role of the graduate assistant house parent can cover a variety of responsibilities including:  

Residential support  

  • Providing teaching and supervisory support in areas of personal interest and expertise.
  • Supporting the daily life of the Boarding Houses and assisting with related administrative tasks.
  • Carrying out weekend duties, typically one Saturday per month during the academic year.
  • Undertaking various supervision responsibilities within both Boarding and School settings. 
  • Supervising students during study periods.
  • Contributing to the co-curricular programme.
  • Attending weekly training and support meetings as required.
  • Providing weekday supervision within the school environment.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by the school.

Qualifications and training:  

  • Degree-level education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Prior residential experience.
  • Driving license .
  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • C1 English or native; Proficiency in French recommended.  
  • A specialised area of interest.

Required  

  • Experience working in a European /Swiss international school environment  
  • Swiss or EU citizenship.
