The world of work has changed, and leaders are facing increasing pressure to navigate higher demand and greater levels of complexity.
The temptation is to hunker down, focus on doing what we do well, what we have always done, work harder and work longer hours, in the hope we can ride out the storm. We all do it! But repeating the patterns of our past is causing unprecedented increases in burnout, turnover and mental health issues across our workforces and workplaces, and the reality is that what got us here, will not get us where we want to go.

David is the BSA Director and joined the BSA group in August 2023. He has over 20 years’ experience in boarding schools and has worked in a range of schools in the UK and Africa, alongside being a prep school governor and a trustee of a MAT. Before taking up his post at the BSA, David was Deputy Head Pastoral at a large co-ed independent school in the South-East.
